Embellished Ammonite open pointed spiral tribal earrings - 1mm sterling silver and faceted Lapis Lazuli

To wear these earrings, simply thread the end of the wire through your piercing from the front of your ear to the back and pass the earring round, until the end of the wire is at the bottom of the earring.

These earrings are made with 18 gauge (1mm) wire.

I start by hand shaping the earrings. I then begin the long process of carefully hammering the sterling silver wire all the way round the spiral, so that it is evenly shaped, this action also to flattens the wire. The hammering not only adds detail, but it also hardens the piece into shape.

Once the shaping of the earrings is complete, I begin filing and sanding, making it comfortable when against the skin. Then the faceted Lapis Lazuli stones are attached, each one individually wrapped in wire, using my Kiss Kross wrap.

Once finished, the earrings are tumbled, to clean and polish it and then hand polished, with an anti tarnish agent, to bring them to a high shine.

The earrings measure 1 1/3” from the top of the earwire to the bottom of the stones and the inner spiral is 1/2” tall.
