Poppy Bird Silver Pendant

Pretty silver poppy pendant with a square bird background, a lovely flower pendant hanging from a sparkly hammered trace sterling silver chain. The poppy has a light patination in the centre, a little nod to the dark centred red poppies that are so loved!

Our red poppy is both a symbol of remembrance and hope for a peaceful, better future.

The pendant is approximately 2.6cm tall (just over 1 inch) and 2.6cm (just over 1 inch) wide . The hammered trace chain is 18 inches long and has a good sized carabiner clasp and two jump rings.

The pendant is made from fine silver metal clay which is 99.9% silver, sterling is 92.5% silver. If you have not come across metal clay before it was first created by the Japanese in 1990, it is metal and an organic binder, the binder burns off during the kiln firing and the metal Fues together to make a metal piece. There are all sorts of metal clays now, bronzes in all colours, copper, iron, silver and gold, I have probably missed some! I love metal clay, it can be textured and sculpted and has endless possibilities.
