A room with a view

This is a painting of an old houseboat at Castle Pill, a disused creek used by small boat owners. At one point they were worried that it would be turned into a marina, but those plans appear to have been abandoned. The painting was completed from a sketch with a photo as back up. The powers that be are always tidying these places up nowadays, I expect that they would term the old boat an ‘eye saw ‘. I would love to know the story of her younger days. Now, she slowly decays into the mud and will one day disappear, along with the memory of those superb craftsmen who built her. What a lovely old girl she must
