Living in the Wild, at home. 25 July 2024
Thursday 25 July. 8pm start. Pangbourne Village Hall.
Living Wild at Home.
A summer performance by stone sculptor Andrew McAlistair Hood
Imagine an artist who, because of circumstances and inclination, must wander through
and sleep in the wild places of England, every night ; seeking shelter, refuge,
and sustenance.
In this lively presentation, Andrew (he who is described above) examines human
dependence upon the natural world, and compares the scientific world’s discoveries
in this field, with his own experiences.
Observing human and environmental degradation, he considers how much the health of
the two may be related.
Come and see how this uncommonly visceral relationship with the natural world,
has become the main focus of Andrew’s output as a visual artist.
Few people, if any in the country, live quite as tooth by jowl with the counrtyside
as does Andrew, which makes this take on life and how it can be lived an unique,
must-see performance.
