I work from my studio in the small town of Biggar in Scotland. It is an area of rolling hills and beautiful countryside. I am inspired by nature - especially the overlooked or ignored - the everyday which we take for granted but which contains glorious detail.
I paint in acrylics, mixed media and watercolour enjoying experimenting and creating texture. I especially enjoy making artist’s books. Recently my work has broadened out to include stitch, collage and printmaking as I look at my subject matter from different points of view and see new possibilities. I admire the work of Duncan Shanks and Victoria Crowe.
I hope to interest others in my view of the natural world and inspire them to look more closely at their environment.
